Abstract

The authors have theoretically investigated a cavitation mechanism of the effective Young’s modulus control for the surface layer of metal with the chain of microcracks under the influence of lubricating – cooling liquids with nano-additives. The researchers have modified the Koenig formula for the case of pair interaction of nanoparticles with account of their characteristic size dispersion. The article suggests a 1D – model of the metal surface layer with the chain of microcracks. It is shown that in case of sufficiently dense regular chain of microcracks the effective Young’s modulus for surface layer is mainly determined by the Young’s modulus for the nanoparticles material.
